ALTA IDELLA KELLY DEAD Mrs. Alta Idella Kelly, 65, who lived at 412 West Fifth, died at 11:45 o'clock this morning in the Newman Memorial County hospital after a long sickness. Mrs. Kelly was born October 4, 1882, at Newton, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Carpenter. She came to Emporia in 1905 and was married to Thomas J. Kelly, who died September 17, 1947. She is survived by four sons, Bernard Kelly, of 1007 Walnut, Vernon T. Kelly, 121 Rural; Vincent, of 412 West Fifth, and Donald, of Argentine; one daughter, Mrs. Delbert Rino (sic), 809 Mechanic; three sisters, Mrs. Rose Sorrick, Chillicothe, Ill.; Mrs. Lavella Goldberg, Long Beach, Calif.; and Mrs. Will Bacus (sic), of Wichita; and by two grandsons and one granddaughter. Mrs. Kelly was a member of the G.A.I.B. of L.E. and of the Army War Mothers. She also was a member of the First Christian church. Funeral services for Mrs. Alta Kelly, who died Tuesday morning in the Newman Memorial County hospital, were held Friday afternoon at the Roberts-Blue chapel at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. LeRoy Hay, pastor of the First Christian church, conducted the services. Urban Brown sang, accompanied by Mrs. Glenn A. Blue. Pallbearers were J. S. Ganzhorn, Harry Toms, Alfred C. Green, F. B. Magwire, E. W. Madison and G. C. Eikerman. Burial was in the Memorial Lawn cemetery. Out-of-town relatives attending were Mr. and Mrs. Don Kelly and Anna Marie Kelly, Kansas City, Kan.; Mrs. Nellie Backus, Wichita; Mrs. E. S. Carpenter, Chicago; Mrs. Rose Sorrick, Chillicothe, Ill., Esther Backus, Wichita; Mrs. Floyd Bennett, Chicago; and Lovilla Backus, Wichita.
