Description	:	Alton Harry Noble, son of Lemuel and Sarah Francis (Young) Noble was born on May 30, 1927 at Loretto, Nebraska. He was baptized at the Loretto Methodist Church in 1940. He attended elementary school at District 72 and District 3 near Loretto and District 18 west of Petersburg. Alton graduated from Albion High School in 1944 and began farming near Petersburg. He was baptized at the Loretto Methodist Church in 1940. He attended elementary school at District 72 and District 3 near Loretto and District 18 west of Petersburg. Alton graduated from Albion High School in 1944 and began farming near Petersburg. On July 20, 1947, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Mae Evans at St. Edward Methodist Church. The couple lived near Petersburg until moving to Boone in 1949. In 1958, they moved to the Loretto area, where Alton continued to farm until 1977. In 1979, the couple moved to Albion where Alton worked at Svoboda’s Shoe Store and The Boot Rack until he retired in 1988. Alton was secretary/treasurer of District 72 School Board and chairman of the 4-H Council. He was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, taught the High School Sunday School Class, served as the Sunday School Superintendent and held various church offices. On Tuesday, November 16, 2010 Alton passed away at his daughter’s home in Albion at 83 years of age. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 19, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Albion with Rev. Terry Otto officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion. He is survived by his wife Charlotte of Albion, NE; 3 children: Bill (Vicki) Noble of Albion, NE; Jean (Herman) Kvamme of Albion, NE; Kim (Dan) Forre of Newman Grove, NE; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Carrol Noble of Albion, NE; Bud (Toni) Noble of LaVista, NE; 2 sisters: Helen Brunson of Ephriam, UT; Margaret Reynoldson of Eagle, NE along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by infant son Craig Allen; parents: Lemuel and Sarah; 4 sisters: Arlene, Grace, Erma Jean and Betty; and one brother: Jack.
