She was born March 25, 1895 in the sand hills of central Nebraska. When she was nine, she came to Girard in a covered wagon, and had lived in the area since that time. Read More	MULBERRY ADVANCE DEC. 16, 1974 Mulberry-Mrs. Alura Bee Dungan, 79, of Mulberry, died at 9:10 p.m. Monday at Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott. She was born March 25, 1895 in the sand hills of central Nebraska. When she was nine, she came to Girard in a covered wagon, and had lived in the area since that time. On Dec. 18, 1912, she married Ira O. Dungan in Columbus. He died July 16, 1967. For many years, the two owned and operated the Dungan Broom Factory in Mulberry. She was a memeber of the First Christian Church in Mulberry, and a past Nobel Grand of the Rebekah Lodge at Mulberry. She is survived by one son Leonard Dungan of Arma, four daughters Mrs. Helen Payne, Mrs. Oneta Kendall, and Margaret Palmer, all of Mulberry. And Mrs. Flossie Mussat at Wichita: 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren: four sisters Mrs. Sylvia Brown, of Webster Grove, Mo, Mrs. Blanche Stevens of Columbus, Mrs. Velma Tracy of Carl Junction, Mo, and Mrs. Dorothy Shutts of Bellvade, Florida. One brother, John Cornell, died two weeks ago. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mulberry Christian Church with Brother Michael Dean officiating. Burial will be in Rosebank Cem., Mulberry. The family will receive friends at the Montanye Chapel at Mulberry from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today, where the Rebekah Lodge will have services.
