She was 71 years of age. Alveda Selma Peterson was both in Union County, South Dakota, June 21, 1905. Her patents were Alfred and Matilda Peterson. Read More	Mrs. Henry Fickbohm Mrs. Alveda, Fickbohm departed this life at her home in Union County, South Dakota, last Wednesday morning, August 18, 1976, following an illness of several months duration. She was 71 years of age. Alveda Selma Peterson was both in Union County, South Dakota, June 21, 1905. Her patents were Alfred and Matilda Peterson. In infancy on July 16, 1905 she was baptized and in childhood on September 14, 1919, she was confirmed in the Nathanael Lutheran Church, Alcester, South Dakota. At a marriage service in Alcester on January 9, 1929; she was united in marriage to Henry Fickbohm. The Fickbohm’s lived on farms in this community throughout their life together. She with her husband became members of Union Creek Church in 1930 and have been very active members here since. In 1936 she became organist and she was faithfully leading the music of our worship services in her church 40 years later. Her service included playing the reed organ when it had to be pumped as well as when it was electrically given wind. She played the Baldwin organ we now have as well as the chimes there on installed, for many years. We say "Well done, good and faithful servant!" Among those who survive her departure are: her husband, Henry Fickbohm; her two sons, Daryl Fickbohm of Alcester and Donald Fickbohm of Sioux Falls; her five grandchildren and her great grandchild; her two sisters, Mrs. Esther Fickbohm of Akron and Mrs. Linnea Gandrau of Harrisburg, South Dakota; her six brothers, Wilbur Peterson, Waldemar Peterson, Wilhelm Peterson and Arnold Peterson, all of Alcester; Adolph Peterson of Madison, Wisconsin and Lloyd Peterson of Pasadena, California; besides many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Walfrid Peterson of Canton, South Dakota; her sister, Mrs. Florence Tunnell of Plainfield, Illinois, and her grandson, Marlin Don Fickbohm of Sioux Falls. The funeral service in her memory was at Union Creek Church, Friday afternoon of last week, August 20, 1976, with Pastor David J. Roy, officiating. Ruth Stoutenburg was organist and accompanied Dennis Hultgren as he sang "Going Home". The congregation sang the hymn "Abide With Me". Duane Fickbohm, Dwight Fickbohm, Dale Peterson, Ronald Siemers, Wayne Siemers and Leslie Sivertson were casket bearers. Burial under the direction of the Schroeder Funeral was in Union Creek Cemetery.
