Description	:	Alvena C. Quandt was born May 2, 1899, the daughter of William and Christina Bumann Alff. She died on Sunday, June 25, 1995 at the Dunlap Care Center in Dunlap, Iowa at the age of ninety-six years. She was born on a farm near Minden, Iowa where she lived with her parents. She was confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neola, Iowa on April 5, 1914 by Pastor C. Lilie. Alvena received her education at a rural school near her home. Quandt was born May 2, 1899, the daughter of William and Christina Bumann Alff. She died on Sunday, June 25, 1995 at the Dunlap Care Center in Dunlap, Iowa at the age of ninety-six years. She was born on a farm near Minden, Iowa where she lived with her parents. She was confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neola, Iowa on April 5, 1914 by Pastor C. Lilie. Alvena received her education at a rural school near her home. Alvena was employed as a housekeeper for the William McHenry family before being united in marriage on February 14, 1923 to William Quandt at the Zion Lutheran Parsonage in Denison, Iowa by Pastor William Frese. The couple settled on a farm near Charter Oak and were blessed with the birth of three daughters. In 1929 the couple moved to a home in Paradise Township, where Alvena resided until her death. Alvena was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. She enjoyed baking and cooking, socializing with friends in a game of cards and word games. She enjoyed good health, until most recently in February. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on November 9, 1963; two brothers, Julius Alff and Ted Alff, two sisters, Helen in infancy and Nettie Lewis; three sons-in-law, Elmer Spreng, Alvin Woebke and Raymond Evers. Survivors include: three daughters, VaNetta Spreng; Bernice Woebke, both of Arion; DeLoris Evers of Dakota City, Nebraska; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren; two brothers, Max Alff and his wife, Laura of Camarillo, California; William Alff and his wife, Maxine of East Los Angeles, California; two sisters, Augusta Groom of Fallbrook, California and Josephine Winford of Westminster, California; also many nieces and nephews.
