The pallbearers were Robert and Howard Mandernach, Clifford, Willard and Wayne Raasch, and Melvin Rabe. Burial was made in the Odebolt cemetery. Relatives who were here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Mandernach, Hazel and Lloyd of Sac City; Ralph Mandernach of Jacksonville, Fla.; Mr. and Mrs. Paul O'Neal, Sioux City; Mrs. Anna Hausmann, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Hausmann, Mrs. Frank Young, Van Horn; Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Nitzsche, Elmer Nitzsche, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. August Fett, Aurelia; Mr. and Mrs. George Hix and Earl Mandernach, Storm Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Huebner, Mr. and Mrs. Will Landgraf and daughter of near Early. Alvina Hausmann, daughter of Conrad and Kathryn Hausmann, was born Sept. 27, 1863, in Will county, Ill. In 1875, her family moved to a farm three miles north of Odebolt. It was in the rural schools that she received her education. In her early life she joined with the Evangelical church at Van Horn. In later years, she had her letter transferred to the Methodist church in Odebolt. She was also a member of the M.A. club. On Jan. 13, 1882, she was united in marriage to Henry Mandernach. They continued to farm for a livelihood and realized some of the pioneer difficulties which many residents encountered and managed to overcome. They gave up the farm in 1909 and moved to Odebolt to the home she and her daughter, Maud, occupied. Mr. Mandernach passed away in July 1918. Mrs. Mandernach or "Aunt Allie", as she was affectionately called by many, was a home-loving person, quiet and unassuming. Her eyesight was not so good in her later years, so her greatest pastime was listening to the radio from which she received much pleasure and benefit. She assisted her daughter with the comely household duties until the last illness. She is survived by two children, W.E. Mandernach of Sac City, and Maud, at home. She also leaves four grandchildren, Hazel and Lloyd Mandernach of Sac City; Lorraine (Mrs. Paul O'Neal) of Sioux City, and Ralph Mandernach, who is stationed at Jacksonville, Fla.; also two sister, Mrs. Anna Huebner of Odebolt and Mrs. Carrie Halboth of Sioux City, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
