Burial will be held in the Wyoming Cemetery, Wyoming. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:00 am until service time at the church. Amanda Martha Thomsen was born on November 5, 1919 in Lockhart, Minnesota, the daughter of Mathias and Matilda (Schlemmer) Thomsen. She married Clifford Parmenter on February 13, 1940 in Anamosa, Iowa. He died on June 12, 1995. She was a homemaker. She is a member of Zion American Lutheran Church and the Lutherans Women's Group, Wyoming. She enjoyed playing bingo, listening to Sunday AM Polka music, and she was an avid reader. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Janice E. (Mrs. Robert) Woodard of Wyoming and Pat (Mrs. Leon) Snider of Cedar Rapids. Two sons, Richard (& Jean) Parmenter of Central City, Iowa and Ronald (& Connie) Parmenter of Alliance, Ohio. 10 grandchildren & 19 great-grandchildren. One sister, Lena Riches of Onslow and one brother, Julius Thomsen of Center Junction. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a son, Roger in infancy. Amanda M. Parmenter of Wyoming died Sunday, June 20, 2004 at the Monticello Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Monticello following a brief illness at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 15 days.
