Hamilton Passes; Services Friday Afternoon Death took another of our pioneer citizens, Mrs. America Jane Hamilton, Tuesday afternoon. The 93-year-old pioneer who had been a resident of Goldendale since 1878, passed away at the Goldendale General Hospital, where she had been confined for several weeks. Funeral services will be held from the Phillips Funeral Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock with Evangelist V.T. Smith, of Kelso, officiating. Interment will be made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. The 93-year-old pioneer who had been a resident of Goldendale since 1878, passed away at the Goldendale General Hospital, where she had been confined for several weeks. Funeral services will be held from the Phillips Funeral Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock with Evangelist V.T. Smith, of Kelso, officiating. Interment will be made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. The deceased was born September 18, 1865, in Silverton, Oregon, and came to Klickitat county with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Chamberlain, in 1878. On November 2, 1879, she was united in marriage to Alexander Hamilton. For many years they lived in the No. 6 area and at one time were the largest land owners and sheep operators in this area. In 1904 Mrs. Hamilton moved to Goldendale with her husband, where she has since resided. Mr. Hamilton precedes her in death, passing away August 22, 1941. Of the eight children born to this union five survive. They are, Mrs. Minnie Watson, O.L. Hamilton and Mrs. C.E. Crooks, all of Goldendale; J.C. Hamilton of Sunnyside, and W.J. Hamilton, of Walla Walla. Two brothers, Joe Chamberlain, of Yakima, and Paul Chamberlain, of Tacoma, and one sister, Emily J. HAMILTON HONORED ON BIRTHDAY Members of the Hamilton family gathered at the house of Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Hamilton Sunday at a family dinner in honor of Mrs. A.J. Hamilton's eighty-second birthday. Those who attended the dinner were: Mr. and Mrs. O.L. Hamilton, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hamilton, Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Crooks, Lorin Hamilton, Mabel and Marjorie Hamilton, Mrs. Minnie Watson, Woodrow Watson, Joe Jobe, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hardin and daughter Willetta, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Beeks, Lonell and Ronald Beeks, all of Goldendale; Joe Chamberlain, Mr. and Mrs. E.F. Chamberlain, Bruce Chamberlain, Mr. and Mrs. George Woodstock , Mr. and Mrs. Walter F.
