Death of Amos G Hamilton Amos G Hamilton, 75, R.D. 1 Homer, Mi, former local merchant, died at Community Hospital in Battle Creek, Mi, Wednesday at 10:55 a.m. having been hospitalized April 23. Mr. Hamilton was born March 17, 1895 in Homer Township, the son of William T and Lena [Boyd] Hamilton. His early years were spent on the family farm, south of Homer, Mi. He attended area schools. On October 21, 1914 he was married to Miss Hazel Blodgett and moved to Homer village where he worked in the Harry Austin Hardware until he and his father purchased the L. S. Dye Implement Co. It was then operated as the W. T. Hamilton & Son Implement Co., until he sold and retired in 1944. Mr. Hamilton served on the board of the Calhoun State Bank beginning in 1935; he served as its president for many years until 1964, when the bank merged with City Bank and Trust Co. He was then made chairman of the advisory board, a position he held at the time of his death. He also served on the village council and fire department for many years. Mr. Hamilton was a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Homer, and had served the church in various capacities. He was a member of Humanity Lodge No 29 F and A.M. and a charter member of Homer Lions Club. Surviving are his..Widow, Hazel..: A son Gale D Hamilton and.Two daughters, Mrs. Hugh C [Dorthea J] Ambler, Mrs. Robert B [Ruby M] Langan …Nine Grandchildren…Four Great Grandchildren.Brother Buel B Hamilton..Sister Miss Thelma I Hamilton, Preceded during the past year. Friends were received at the Tidd Funeral Home until noon Saturday, services were held at 1:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev, Leroy Cabbage of Milan and the Rev, Clifton A Scott officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery. Homer, Michigan.
