Marshall (MI) Evening Chronicle Friday, August 12, 1938 Prominent Homer Man Dies Today Long Illness Fatal To Former Board Chairman ---William F. Hamilton, 74, former chairman of the board of supervisors and for the past 22 years a Homer implement dealer, died at his residence in Homer at 3:00 o'clock this morning following a long illness. ---Mr. Hamilton suffered a stroke of paralysis five years ago, but had been seriously ill only the past two week.s ---He represented Homer township on the board of supervisors nine years and served as chairman for three years. ---Born in Hamilton, Canada, the son of Thomas and Caroline Hamilton, he moved to Litchfield at an early age. ---On Nov. 12, 1890, he was married to Miss Lena Boyd, of Tecumseh, who died Feb. 11, 1921. They moved to a farm south of Homer where they resided until 1916 moving to Homer village that year. ------Buys Business ---Mr. Hamilton purchased the implement business of L. S. Dye which he has since operated, together with a son, Amos. ---Surviving are another son, Buel of Union City, and a daughter, Miss Thelma Hamilton, at home and eight grandchildren. ---Funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence, with the Rev. Leroy Cabbage officiating.
