Description	:	Amy, daughter of Maurice and Mary Ann Pierson was born in Sweedsborough, New Jersey, June 8, 1853 and passed away at her home in Nodaway November 3, 1933 at the age of 80 years, 4 months, and 25 days. On December 6, 1878 she was united in marriage to Richard Query at the home of her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Lyon in Adams County. To this union six children were born, a son, Chas. Read More	Amy, daughter of Maurice and Mary Ann Pierson was born in Sweedsborough, New Jersey, June 8, 1853 and passed away at her home in Nodaway November 3, 1933 at the age of 80 years, 4 months, and 25 days. On December 6, 1878 she was united in marriage to Richard Query at the home of her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Lyon in Adams County. To this union six children were born, a son, Chas. Lyon and a daugher Mrs. Elizabeth Gray preceded the mother in death. Those surviving and present at the funeral are Mrs. Kathryn Melvin of Indianapolis, Indiana, Mrs. Amy Smith of Williamson, Iowa, Mrs. Eunice Melvin of Siam, Iowa, and J. W. Query of Sioux city, Iowa. After the death of her mother in Sweedsborough, which occured when Mrs. Query was quite young, she with her father and two sisters came west to St. Louis, Missouri and later about the year of 1870 moved to Adams County, Iowa. From that time, with the exception of one winter in California and several winters in Fairhope, Alabama, her life has been lived in this community. Shortly after her marriage she united with the Evangelical Church, later transferring her membership to the Methodist Church in Nodaway, of which she was a faithful member at the time of her death. She was a fond and loving mother, a loyal neighbor and friend, who was loved and respected by all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her passing her aged husband, the aforementioned children; one sister, Mrs. Mary Lyon of Los Angeles, California; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Nodaway, conducted by Rev. Wayne E. Emry. Interment was in the Nodaway Cemetery.
