Description	:	James W. Query was born June 10, 1885 in Adams County, Iowa to Richard and Amy Pierson Query. He grew up on a farm in Taylor County, Iowa, and attended country school there. In 1906 James and Grace Hollingsworth were united in marriage in Adams County. In 1908 they moved to Sioux City, Iowa, where he worked on the Omaha Railroad. He worked there until 1950 when he retired and moved back to their family farm in Taylor County, about five miles south of Nodaway. Together, they farmed for ten years until Grace passed away in 1960. He then moved... Read More	James W. Query was born June 10, 1885 in Adams County, Iowa to Richard and Amy Pierson Query. He grew up on a farm in Taylor County, Iowa, and attended country school there. In 1906 James and Grace Hollingsworth were united in marriage in Adams County. In 1908 they moved to Sioux City, Iowa, where he worked on the Omaha Railroad. Together, they farmed for ten years until Grace passed away in 1960. He then moved to Fulda, Minnesota for a while, then moved to Menahga, Minnesota. He spent his summers in Menhge and the winters with his daughter in California. About three years ago he sold his home in Menahga and moved to California. Last spring he moved back to Fulda and then to Slayton Minnesota. Mr. Query passed away at the Murray County Hospital, January 24, 1978 at the age of 92. Survivors include his son, Wallace of Fulda, Minnesota,, a daughter Mrs. Irma Reynders of Slayton, Minnesoat; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Unice Melven of Sacramento, California. He was blessed with two grandchildren, Rev. Richard Query of Brainard, Minnesota and Marilyn (Mrs Keith Baker) of Harley, Iowa. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, three sisters, one brother, and a grandson. Funeral services were held at the Hustad Funeral Home in Fulda, Minnesota, January 27 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services were held at the Nodaway, Iowa Cemetery, January 28 at 2:00 p.m. Adams County Free Press, February 2, 1978, page 6
