Description	:	Stratford Courier February 27, 1908 Andrew Pearson, a pioneer settler of Webster county, passed away Monday evening at the home of F.O. Hagstrom. Mr. Pearson, better known as "Stone-buster," had been ill for some time and his death was undoubtedly due to old age, he being nearly 86 years old at the time of his death. Andrew Pearson was born in Alvik [Ulrika], Östergötland, Sweden, April 13, 1822 and died Monday, February 24, 1908, aged 85 years, 10 months and 11 days. He was married in Sweden about 1840 and to the union tow daughters were born, one of which preceded him to the great beyond; the other, Mrs. F.O. Hagstrom, came to America with her father in 1879 and the latter died at her home. The funeral services were held at the home of F.O. Hagstrom, Thursday, February 28, Rev. Kron of the Dayton Swedish Lutheran church conducting the service. The remains were interred in the Swede Bend cemetery. Deceased had lived an honest life for many years. Away upon one of the high bluffs, overlooking the Des Moines river, where the northwestern railroad describes a horseshoe curve in circling around the bluffs, he had erected a house of stone and there he lived with only a few wolf hounds for company until a year ago. He was characteristically known as "stone buster," is a name he carried from Sweden because he was a stone blaster and was injured severely in a blast so that it was necessary for him to walk with two canes. He frequently spent a day or two here with some friends so was well known here. Dayton Review March 5, 1908 Anders Person died on Feb. 24 in Hardin township at the home of his daughter at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 24 days. He was born in Ulrika, Östergötland, Sweden and came to America in 1880. He leaves a wife in Sweden, a daughter and eight grandchildren. He was the father-in-law of Mr. F.O. Hagstrom who lives across the river. Services were held at the brother's home and the body interred in the cemetery southeast of there.
