He became ill last January and was bedfast most of the time since. The body was brought here the same evening and funeral services held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Ludger Catholic church, with the pastor, the Rev. W. Windolph, officiating. Burial was made in St. Ludger cemetery. The church was nearly filled with relatives and friends, who assembled to pay a final tribute. The casket was borne by B.J. Huigens, Ed Wagner, Peter Richling, Clem Prenger, W.A. Hufsmith and P.H. Green. Andrew Philip Schneider was born November 18, 1874 on a farm near Winnetoon. At death, October 30, 1937, he lacked but 18 days of being 62 years old. Mr. Schneider was graduated with the 1896 class of Creighton high school, one of the school's earliest graduating classes. In 1904 he went into the Indian Territory that later was to become Oklahoma and operated an electric light plant and telephone exchange at Commanche. He returned to Creighton in 1907 and operated a restaurant known as the Dixie Cafe. February 12 of the same year, he was united in marriage to Margaret "Dixie" Cloninger of Oklahoma. In 1910 he homesteaded a half section near Glendive, Mont., remaining there till 1917, when he again returned here, this time to operate an electric shop. He also worked in the Largen factory, remaining till 1939, when he moved to Norfolk. Two years later, he moved to Madison, acquiring a restaurant there, which he operated until his death. Surviving relatives include his wife and a daughter, Mrs. Agnes Landreth, both of Monroe, La., who were at his bedside, when he passed away; his aged mother, Mrs. Margaret Schneider of Creighton; a brother J.N. Schneider of Creighton and three sisters, Mrs. J.P. Darcy Jr. and Mrs. James Manion of Creighton and Mrs. John Duras of Denver. ...The Creighton News 4 Nov 1937
