Description	:	------------------------- Death of Andrew Strain Andrew Strain was born December 1, 1817 in Highland county, Ohio and departed this life April 9, 1897. He united with the Methodist Episcopal church at the age of sixteen years and was an active,consistent Christian until his death. Since the death of his beloved wife, he had been sad, and longed to join her, who for over a half a century trod life's pathway by his side. He was a devoted husband and father and home was a spot he loved best on earth. He loved his fellowmen and none were ever turned from his door. He was united... Read More	------------------------- Death of Andrew Strain Andrew Strain was born December 1, 1817 in Highland county, Ohio and departed this life April 9, 1897. He united with the Methodist Episcopal church at the age of sixteen years and was an active,consistent Christian until his death. Since the death of his beloved wife, he had been sad, and longed to join her, who for over a half a century trod life's pathway by his side. He was a devoted husband and father and home was a spot he loved best on earth. He loved his fellowmen and none were ever turned from his door. He was united in the bonds of holy matrimony to Anna Winegar, August 1, 1837. In 1849 he immigrated from Ohio to Knox county, Ill. and from there to Polk county, Iowa, where he lived until 1881, when he came to Nebraska. Eleven children were born to them, two of them dying in infancy, the remaining nine survive him to mourn his loss, all being present to hear the last sad rites, W.A. and F. Strain and Mrs. Wm. Darnell of Creighton; J.S. Strain of Council Bluffs, Iowa, D.M. Strain of Norfolk, Neb.; W.H. Strain of Valley, Neb.; Mrs. Davidson of Foster, Neb.; Mrs. Wells of Niobrara, Neb.; Mrs. Lewis Darnell of Ulyssis, Neb. Andrew Strain had twenty nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Services were held at the M.E. church in Creighton, Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and the remains were taken to Niobrara for interment. ...The Creighton Courier 15 April 1897 -------------------------
