Description	:	Andrew T. Groothuis died Monday night, October 7, 1974 at his home near Trenton at the age of 74. He was born April 16, 1900 at Hildreth to the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom Groothuis. He grew up there and came to Hitchcock County in 1926 and was married to Louise Schmale January 24, 1928. They made their home on a farm southwest of Culbertson. Mrs. Groothuis died October 8, 1961. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Culbertson. Survivors are six sons, Elmer of Lincoln; Stanley of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; Wilbert of Falls City; Harlan of Kearney; Irvan of Lincoln; and Ivan of Trenton; 12 grandchildren; four brothers, Ed of Hildreth, Tom of Keene, Albert of Denver, and John of Culbertson, and one sister, Mrs. Marie Frerichs of Minden. Services were held Thursday, October 10 at St. John Lutheran Church in Culbertson with the Rev. Terry Martin officiating. Interment was in the Trenton Cemetery.
