She married Dowen Burke Downs in 1941. and they were the parents of three children: Donald Francis, Roberta Elizabeth and Marie Mabel. Walker went to walk with the Lord our savior on Saturday, May 8, 2010. Angela was born Sophie Nellie Sularz on Sept. 17, 1919. Her parents were Polish immigrants. When Angie was a young girl she was diagnosed with TB (Pott's disease) of the spine. Her father moved the family to Minneapolis, Minn., where she was placed in a TB sanitarium at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. She lay in a body cast for a year. Angie survived this challenge when no one else did. This was just one of the many challenges that Angie encountered as she traveled down life's road. In 1929 her family moved to Trout Creek, Mont. That's where Angie lived and went to school. She loved going to dances and hiking to the top of mountains. Angie married twice. Her first husband died in 1948; with three children she later remarried the love of her life, Wayne Walker. They moved to Burke and then Wallace in 1957. Wallace became home. Her love for the home. Her love for the people was unending. Angie was the happiest when she was entertaining family and friends. Angie was a homemaker until the early 1970s. She worked for the North Idaho Press and later worked 24 years at the Wallace Laundromat. She loved the job because she could be with the people. Everyone loved her. She also bowled in a league for 30 years at Albi's in Wallace. Angie was preceded in death by her husband, a son and a granddaughter. She is survived by five children, Don of Post Falls, Roberta of Coeur d'Alene, Marie of Rathdrum, John of Nevada and Cheri of Wallace; 13 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; and her brother, Frank Sularz of Arizona. Angie was born Catholic and a parishioner of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Wallace and was involved with many activities there. She lived her faith. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 15, 2010, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Rosary will begin at 10 a.m. and the service at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the Wallace Elks. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the "6th Street Melodrama," P.O. Box 1243, Wallace, ID 83873. Our mother found so much joy in the melodrama and was a faithful supporter.
