Anna Jane Wilson, was born in County Down, Ireland, on New Years Day 86 years ago. She grew to young womanhood in her native land and there was united in marriage with Mr James Carson/Carswell. To them were born four children, Mr & Mrs John F. & Margaret "Maggie" Carswell-Maxwell, of Mindenmines, Missouri, Mr & Mrs William J. Carswell, of Boone, Iowa, Joesph Carswell, of Manchester, Iowa, and Mr & Mrs Fred & Annie Carswell-Walker, of Newton, Iowa. Mrs. Carswell has 28 grandchildren, and 38 g.grandchildren. In the early 1860's the family moved from Ireland to Scotland, and there the husband and father was killed in a coal mine in 1882. The following year Mrs Carswell came with her children to this country and settled in Moingona, Iowa. Where they resided for a time and then removed to Boone. For many years she made a home with son William in this city, but about seven years ago went to Missouri and has since made her home with her daughter there. Death was do to the natural decline of old age. The family have the sympathy of many friends in their sorrow. NO headstone was found, cemetery worker said "that the cemetery property had flooded many times over the years"
