Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Central City. The Rev. Nelson Newman will officiate. Burial will be in the Silver Creek Cemetery. A wake service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the church. Solt Funeral Home of Central City is in charge of arrangements. Miss Tomasiewicz was born on June 25, 1911, south of Genoa in Nance County to Thomas "Savage" and Julia (Iwan) Tomasiewicz. She was educated in rural Nance and Merrick County schools. She lived most of her life on the family farm northeast of Clarks. Her father died in 1938, and she, her sister Mary and her mother continued to live on the farm. They raised chickens and tended a very large garden. Her mother died in 1961, and Miss Tomasiewicz and her sister moved to Central City in 1967. While living in Central City, she provided child care and crocheted rugs. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Central City and the Altar Society. She enjoyed crocheting. Survivors include two brothers, Tony Savage of Central City and Louis Savage of Glendale, Calif.; two sisters, Helen (Mrs. James) Sellers of Houston and Kathryn (Mrs. Albin) Prososki of Osceola. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Savage and Francis and Joe Tomasiewicz; and two sisters, one in infancy and Mary Tomasiewicz. The Grand Island Independent, Jan. 23, 1999
