Burial will be in Maple Hill cemetery here. She was Miss Anna Bonnett, the daughter of Wash and Mary Ellen Bonnett, was born near Birmingham and was married to Frank Simpson. Bonnett Simpson, daughter of George W. and Mary Ellen Bonnett, was born near Birmingham, Iowa, Feb. 8, 1869, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ernest Larsen in Abingdon, Ill., June 16, 1944 at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 8 days. Her early life was spent in the vicinity of her birth. She was married to Frank Simpson, Jan. 1, 1891 at Keosauqua, Iowa. To this union were born six children, all of whom preceded their mother in death, except Mrs. Mae Larsen, with whom she made her home for the past 15 years. Two died in infancy, Clarence and Levi were still born children and Veva in 1931. Her husband passed away in 1931. She is survived by one brother, Charles Bonnett, Blackwell, Okla., four sisters, Mrs. Viola Wood, Albuquerque, N. M., Mrs. Rose Elerick, Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Cora Swanson, Florence, Ariz., and Mrs. Iva Downs, Sackatchewan[sic-Saskatchewan], Canada, and three grandchildren. She was a member of the Methodist church from childhood, but united with the Christian church on moving to Abingdon, Ill. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church in Birmingham. Burial in Maple Hill cemetery in the family lot, with the other members of her family who preceded her in death. Source: Van Buren Co.
