Anna Etta Martha Danekas, second oldest daughter of Fred Danekas and his wife Minnie nee Tavis, , was called to her eternal reward on Thursday morning January 22, 1920 at 5:45, after a lingering illness of more than four weeks. She was born in Seward county the 8th of June, 1901. On August 11, 1901, she was received into the church of Christ through baptism by Rev. T. W. Krueger. In the confirmation serice April 1, 1917, conducted by her former pastor, Rev. Geo. Duensing, she, with her classmates, renewed her baptismal vow, consecrating her life in the service of her Lord and Savior. Great interest was manifested in all things undertaken by her. She was a model pupil in her class in high school. An earnest, upright christian in her daily life, taking interest in the work of her church. She was for years active in the Sunday school work, a member of the Bible class, also a member of the choir. Her early departure out of our midst will be sorely felt and missed. A shadow has been cast over the family circle, a place made vacant in the home. She was a dutiful, obedient daughter, a sister willing to help and serve all. Being of a friendly disposition, kind to all, and a smile for every one, she won a host of friends. During her illness her patience was sorely tested. With christian fortitude she bore her pains and sufferings, and when the time came, when she became aware that her Savior would soon summon her to her heavenly home, she was ready to go, to go out of a world of care. She loved her home, appreciation of all the tender love of her family and friends was expressed by her, but she was willing to submit to the divine ruling of her Lord. She reached the age of 18 years, seven months and twelve days. Her death was caused by tumor of the brain. Her departure is mourned by her parents, her sisters and brothers, Eda, Katie, Stanly and Roland, her aged grandmother, Mrs. Robert Danekas, sr., nine uncles and aunts and a large circle of cousins and distant relatives, and a host of friends. Our hearts are filled with sorrow, but we all hope and know that in some future time will be reunited with her and all our loved ones in a better world if we have fought a victorious battle and our faith has conquered even death. The funeral ceremony was conducted by the Rev. F. Abele, her pastor, assisted by Rev. Geo. Duensing, her former pastor and burial was made at the West Blue Evangelical church cemetery. Yes we confess and believe: "There is a world above, where parting is unknown; A whole eternity of love, formed for the good alone; And faith beholds the dying here, Translated to that happier sphere."
