Read More	Stratford Courier May 13, 1915 Anna Hanson Lundquist was born on January 5, 1842, in Malung Parish, Kopparberg's County, the province of Dalarne, Sweden. She emigrated to America in 1872 and united in marriage to Gustaf Lundquist of the South Marion community the following year. She moved with her husband to Stratford in 1902, where she passed away May 7, 1915, at an age of 73 years, 4 months and 2 days. She united with the Swedish M.E. Church of South Marion in 1895, and ever since she has been a faithful member. During the last months of her pilgrimage she suffered considerably from an incurable disease, which finally broke down the earthly tabernacle. Her two daughters, Nettie and Nora, left their respective places in Chicago in order to care for their mother during her last days. Like the rest of us she loved life, yet she became reconciled to her fate. In the days of her suffering she received special strength through the prayers of Christian friends. She said to her daughters, "There will be no rest for me until I get home," and the last message she whispered to her minister was this: "He goeth with me through the Valley of the Shadow of Death." She is mourned by her aged husband, four sons, three daughters, one son-in-law, four grandchildren, three sisters in Sweden, one sister and brother in America and a large number of friends. The Lord comfort them all. The funeral services were held Tuesday at the South Marion Church, the Rev. Nels Pearson officiating and using as his text for the occasion 2 Cor. 5:1. The floral offerings were large and a large number of friends and old settlers followed the remains to the South Marion Cemetery, where interment took place. You have left us now, dear mother, Left us for that home on high, Left this world and all its sorrows, To be there in Paradise. There to be with your dear Savior, In that peaceful home above, Where there is no pain or sorrow, There where all is peace and love. Peaceful be thy silent slumber, In the grave so dark and low. Thou no more will join our number, Thou no more our sorrows know. No one knew how much you suffered, In the years that have gone by. Now that you are with your Savior We know you are satisfied. Now we miss you from our number When we meet down here below. But we hope again to greet you Over on that blissful shore. Face to face we hope to meet you, Nevermore to part again. And in heaven with joy to greet thee, Where no farewell tears are shed. Happy there is His sweet Presence We shall tread the golden strand. Trouble and sorrow left behind us There we'll surely understand.
