Description	:	HAMLIN REPORTER Thur, April 15, 1915: Anna Heise Byer was born near Victoria Square, York Co., Ont., Oct. 1, 1854, died at her home near Hamlin, Ks., April 10, 1915 aged 69 years, 6 months and 9 days. The deceased was the oldest daughter of Christian and Leah Heise. She was married to John Henry Byer Jan 11, 1876. In 1884 they moved to Kansas to the place where they both lived until death. She is survived by three brothers, Henry and Levi Heise of York Co., Ont., and Anthony Heise, who lives near her home; two sisters, Mrs. Peter Steckley and Mrs. Joseph Steckley, both of York Co., Ont. Three grandchildren. Funeral was held Tuesday at the River Brethren Church north of Hamlin and interment in the River Brethren Cemetery. —The Brown County World (Hiawatha, KS), Fri Apr 23, 1915. Byer—Mrs. J. H. Byer died early Saturday morning at her home northeast of Morrill. She was in her 61st year and had been in poor health for many months. Mrs. Byer was taken ill last fall and for a time her life was despaired of. However, she recovered sufficiently to again get about but suffered a relapse and passed away very suddenly. Mrs. Byer came with her husband from Ontario, Canada, to this locality in 1884 and had continued to reside here ever since. She is survived by four sons, three daughters and many other relatives. Among the latter are a brother, A. J. Heise, and an uncle, John Heise, both of whom live in this neighbor-hood. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the River Brethren church and the body interred at the cemetery there beside the remains of Mr. Byer, who died last December.—Morrill News.
