They arrived in the United States in 1849 and they are referenced in the Commemorative Biographical and Historical Record of Kane County, pages 749 & 750. Thomas & Ann had four children together. Rounds, of old age, Saturday, January 6th, 1900, Mrs. Ann Parkins, aged sixty-seven years. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon in the presence of a goodly number of relatives and friends, conducted by Rev. Irwin of this city. Interment was made in the Wood River cemetery. Mrs. Ann Parkin was born in Durham, England in 1821, and came to America in 1840 settling in Illinois. She came to Hall county, Nebraska in 1873 and resided, up to the time of her death with her daughter, Mrs. Wm Rounds. The deceased, while she lived in England, was a communicant of the Episcopal church and on coming to this country affiliated with the M. E. church. She always led a very exemplary life and was loved and respected for her many admirable qualities of heart and mind. She leaves to mourn her loss the following children, who attended the funeral: Richard Parkin, Elgin, Illinois, Mrs. Sarah Emery of Arribe, Colorado, and John Boone, Mrs. L. B. Cross and Mrs. Wm. Rounds of Wood River. The sympathy of the community goes out to the children in the loss of their mother.
