Read More	The Clay County Sun (Clay Center, NE), Thursday, June 22, 1950; pg. 4 Mrs. Anna Hansen (Obituary) Mrs. Anna Hansen, pioneer resident of Sutton, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Nelson of Edgar on Friday, June 16 at the age of 88 years, 4 months and 26 days. She had been in declining health for several months. She was born January 21, 1862 at Fyen Assens, Denmark. At the age of eleven years she came to America with her parents and settled at Peshtigo, Wis. Four years later she came to Sutton with her parents. In 1882 she was united in marriage to Christian Hansen and they moved to a farm north of Verona. Upon the death of her husband in 1914 she moved to Sutton where she has resided since. At an early age she was baptized in the Danish Lutheran faith and upon coming to Sutton she attended the Congregational Church. To the Hansens were born ten children, eight of whom survive. A son, James, and a daughter, Mary preceded her in deatth (sic). Surviving are four sons, Albert E. and William of Lincoln, Earl L. of Saronville and Fred E. of Aurora; also four daughters, Mrs. John Nelson, Edgar, Mrs. Annie Teeter (sic), Grand Island, Mrs. Algot Dahlgren, Sutton and Mrs. Ed Yost of Omaha. She leaves also, 18 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. Her only sister passed away in Clay Center on May 28th. She also leaves many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Funeral services were held at the Federated Church with her pastor the Rev. Max Christopher in charge. Interment was in the Sutton cemetery (sic).
