Ann was born March 9, 1911, in Mannhaven, the daughter of August and Katharina (Breitling) Isaak. She attended rural grade schools in the Mannhaven area and at Krem. She married Theo. H. ""Ted'' Huber, Nov. 4, 1934. They farmed and raised their children on the family farm north of Hazen. In 1951, they moved to Hazen where they continued farming and started Huber Construction. Ann and Ted, in addition to raising their own children, opened their home to other children, including nephews, nieces, friends of their children and foreign exchange students. Ann was dedicated to her family, her church and her community. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and was active with the women's group at the church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed her many years of membership with the Hazen Hospital Auxiliary and served as Ways and Means Chairperson for many years, and helped start the annual hospital bazaar. She was a member of the Hazen Happy Homemakers. Ann also served as a volunteer at Sakakawea Medical Center. She found particular delight in the regular social gatherings of the Gourmet Club. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, embroidering, crocheting, gardening, cooking and entertaining. One of her most cherished duties was providing a meal of chicken and dumplings to her grandchildren when they gathered at her home. She is survived by her husband, Ted; two daughters and sons-in-law, Loretta and Stan Zarambo, Lino Lakes, Minn., and Maxine and Gary Beckwith, Hazen; two sons and daughters-in-law, Harvey and Kathy Huber, Jamestown, and Rodney and Michele Huber, League City, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Nancy Zarambo Kutchera and her husband, Tim, Portland, Ore., Susan Zarambo, St. Paul, Minn., Greg Zarambo and his wife, Roxanne, St. Paul, and Julie Zarambo, Lino Lakes, Jason Beckwith, Hazen, Callie Huber Meehan and her husband, John, Charlotte, N.C., Christie Huber Obenauer and her husband Jerry, Mountain View, Idaho, Stephanie Huber, Boise, Idaho, Jennifer Huber, Fargo, Amanda Huber, Grand Forks and Ashlee Huber, League City; three great-grandchildren, Grace and Claire Meehan, and Matthew Kutchera; and one sister, Hilda Bohrer, Valley City. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Richard Isaak, David Isaak, Arthur Isaak, Fred Isaak and Herbert Isaak; three sisters, Elizabeth Guenthner, Emma Guenthner Esch and Esther Schmoll; and four others siblings who died in infancy or childhood. Memorials may be directed to St. Matthew Lutheran Braille Center No. 193, Sakakawea Medical Center Hospice or Knife River Care Center Foundation.
