JORDAN Anna M. Martin, daughter of Robert O. Martin and Maria Seward Martin, was born near Washburn, Marshall County, Ill., April 21, 1864. Departed this life April 8, 1943, at her home in Glasco, Kansas. At the age of fifteen years, she came with her parents, five brothers, and one sister, to Kansas in July, 1879, and located on a farm southwest of Glasco. Later they moved to the A.H. Spaulding farm north of Glasco, where she was married to Norman H. Jordan November 5, 1884, and established their home on Mr. Jordan's farm, four miles east of Glasco. To this union were born two sons and one daughter: Cecil Howe, Eva Elizabeth, and Ross, who lived to give joy to the home but sixteen months. Mr. and Mrs. Jordan lived on their farm where they located when married until January, 1913, when they moved to the present home in Glasco. Mrs. Jordan was a member of the Methodist church and took part in the church work so long as she was able. She was a Past Noble Grand of Del Rey Rebekah Lodge, No. 243, also a member of Priscilla Chapter, No. 260, O.E.S., of Glasco, Kansas. Mrs. Jordan was a kind and loving wife and mother, and a friend of all who knew her. She was a great lover of flowers and loved to work in the "great out-of-doors." Those who survive her are her son, Howe Jordan, and daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Sheets, and their families. The grandchildren are Mrs. Emery Yenni, Mr. Jack Jordan, a motor machinist's mate, second class, United States Coast Guard, and Miss Shirley Jordan. Great-grandchildren are Barbara and Jon Yenni, all of Glasco; and three brothers, John Martin and Cecil Martin of Glasco; and Frank Martin of Holly, Colo.; and many friends and relatives. Funeral services were held in the Glasco Methodist church on Saturday, April 10, 1943, at 2:00 p.m., the Rev. R.R. Braddick officiating. Interment was in Glasco cemetery.
