Read More	Glasco Sun, March 4, 1943, page 1: Norman Howe Jordan, son of William and Elizabeth Jordan, was born August 30, 1858, near Kentville, King's County, Nova Scotia. He departed this life Feb. 25, 1943, at his home in Glasco, Kansas. In the year 1871 he came with his parents, two brothers, and five sisters, to this country. They came by train to Solomon, Kansas, and came up the valley by horse and wagon. They settled on his father's homestead, four miles northeast of Glasco. Though a young lad of only twelve years, he became much interested in farming and was a great help in the experiences of pioneer life in a new and unsettled country. Nov. 5, 1884, he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Martin, who has been a faithful helpmate for fifty-eight years. To this union were born two sons and one daughter, Cecil Howe, Eva Elizabeth, and Ross, who was spared to them only sixteen months. Mr. and Mrs. Jordan lived on their farm four miles east of Glasco, where they settled when they were married, until January 1913, when they moved to their present home in Glasco. Mr. and Mrs. Jordan are members of the Methodist church, and were active in the church work so long as their health permitted. Mr. Jordan was Past Master of Glasco Lodge No. 292, A.F.&A.M. His memory will long be cherished by his many friends and neighbors, who will miss his cheering words and friendly smile. Those who survive his passing are his wife, Mrs. Anna Jordan; son, Cecil Howe Jordan; daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Sheets; his brother, Everett W. Jordan of Glasco; two sisters, Mrs. Judith E. Wagner of Concordia and Mrs. Eunice Atkinson of Glasco; grandchildren, Mrs. Emery Yenni, Mr. Jack Jordan who is now graduating from Motor mechanics and Petty Officers' School at Groton, Conn., Miss Shirley Jordan; great grandchildren, Barbara Yenni and Jon Yenni, all of Glasco. Funeral services were held at the Glasco Methodist church on Saturday, Feb. 27, at 2:00 p.m., the Rev. R.R. Braddick officiating. Interment was made in the Glasco cemetery.
