Rev. Norbert Tegtmeir will officiate at the services. Anna Monk, Monticello, died June 2 at Vinton Lutheran Home for the Aged, after a period of declining health. Anna Reuter was born Sept.10,1887, in Lovell Township, the daughter of Frederick and Anna Behrends Reuter. She received her early education in schools near Pomeroy, and later in rural schools of Delaware County. After her education she worked as a housekeeper for the Sotje family in Monticello. Anna Reuter and Rudolph Henry Monk were married Dec. 13, 1908, at St. John's Lutheran Church. The couple made their home near Hopkinton, where Rudolph worked as a painter and carpenter. In 1911, they moved to Castle Grove Township, where they farmed. In 1914, they moved to a farm in Lovell Township east of Monticello. They retired from farming in 1947 and moved to Monticello. Rudolph preceded her in death in November 1961. In 1978,health problems caused her to move to the Lutheran Home. Anna was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Monticello,where she was a charter member of the Ladies Aid. She was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church, and confirmed at Pomroy. Anna is survived by four children, Carl Monk, Gertrude Postel, Rudolph Monk and Lester Monk, all of Monticello; a brother, Carl Reuter of Sumner; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and three sisters. Casket bearers were Roy Reuter, Robert First, Steve Reuter, Randy Monk, Steve Monk and Harold Postel.
