She was born in Heubisch,Saxemeiningen, Germany, which is about 5 miles north and west of Mitwitz, Frederick's home town. LDS files say her parents were John Carl Schaller and Dorothy Lieberman. She came with husband Frederick and son Arthur to America from Bremen, Germany to New York, in 1883. They followed her brothers Andrew and George Schaller by rail to Vernon, Wisconsin, where they stayed in an uncle's stable. Frederick's brother John came the next year to the same place. Young... Read More	Anna was buried on the Schreyer homestead with 4 other family members. Young son Arthur died soon after arrival. They remained in Wisconsin while her brothers fought in Civil War, then moved on to Ohio, then Indiana. They went by covered wagon to Custer, NE, as the first settlers in their area. Fred built a dugout and sod house where the family lived. They kept in close touch with her brothers and family and the families visited each other. When she died there was no cemetery so she was buried at home. Her name and dates are on Frederick's gravestone at Kingsbury Cemetery. He's buried there, she's buried near here 1/4 mile south of this marker.
