Description	:	Anna Maria Helena Stineman, one of five children of Carl Ludwig Togel and Maria Barfknecht, was born on a farm southeast of Lawrence, Nebraska, on December 7, 1895. She was raised on the family farm and attended the Blackwood School northwest of Nelson, and also the German School at the Evangelical Lutheran Church.On March 3, 1915, she married Jesse Ray Stineman in Hastings, Nebraska. She was raised on the family farm and attended the Blackwood School northwest of Nelson, and also the German School at the Evangelical Lutheran Church.On March 3, 1915, she married Jesse Ray Stineman in Hastings, Nebraska. To this union three children were born. Lena, as she was lovingly known by family and friends, was a member of the Nelson Methodist Church, later the Nelson Community United Church of Christ. She was confirmed on April 9, 1911, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church on the family farm near Lawrence, Nebraska, by Rev. A. Schrieber. She was baptized in 1982 at the Calvary Christian Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, by Rev. Max Goins.Other communities she had lived in besides Nelson and Lawrence were on a ranch with her husband near Burwell, Nebraska, and several years near Bostwick.Her life was dedicated to her family and her home, she enjoyed her gardening and quilting. She served on the school board of Grand Prairie District # 75. Because of poor health, she entered the Good Samaritan Center in Superior in April, 1898. She was preceded in death by an infant brother and sister; her parents; daughter, Mildred Evelyn Stineman; infant granddaughter; her husband on January 31, 1968; a brother, William Ferdinand Togel; and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Schleif.Her survivors include her son Wilford Wayne Stineman and his wife, Marianne of Nelson; her daughter Geraldine Shaw and her husband Ben of Superior; ten grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.Lena passed away February 14, 1991, at the Good Samaritan Center in Superior at the age of 95 years, 2 months and 7 days.Funeral services were held Monday, February 18, 1991, at 2:00 p.m. from the Klawitter-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Nelson, Nebraska, with Pastor Ken Fairbrother officiating. Music was provided by soloist Ward Chapman singing selections of "Little Brown Church in the Vale" and "In The Garden" with Myrtle Worley as organist and accompanist. Casketbearers were Raymond Lang, Don Biltoft, Dale Uhrmacher, Chuck Larison, Richard Douglass and Robert Barfknecht. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery near Nelson, Nebraska.
