Jesse Ray Stineman was born March 2, 1894 at Webber, Kansas to Arthur Ellsworth Stineman and Laura Emily Kirk who, with his step-mother, have preceded him in death. He spent the early years of his life in the Webber Community where he received his education and attended the Methodist Church. With his parents and the family, he moved to the Lawrence, Nebraska community in 1911, and was to live near there and in Nelson the remainder of his life. He was united in marriage to Miss Lena Tagel on March 3, 1915. To this union three children were born. At he (sic) age of 14, Mildred Evelyn died in 1930. Surviving are his devoted wife Lena, are (sic) Mr. Wilford Wayne Stineman and wife Marianne of Nelson: Mrs. Geraldine LaVonne Shaw and husband of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, (children), two brothers and a sister, Charles, Clyde, and Edith of Superior: an aunt, Mrs. Bertha Lyn of Superior who reared him after his mother's death' an uncle, Mr. Melvin Stineman of Kansas City, Mo.: 9 grandchildren, Jennifer, Randy, Priscilla, Loretta and David Stineman of Nelson and Derald, Dennis, Dianne and Ben Shaw Jr., of Baton Rouge, La. (sic) cousins and friends. A recently born granddaughter, Beth Anne Stineman died the day of birth, Jan. 22, 1968. Funeral services were held February 3, 1968 at the Klawitter Chapel in Nelson with Rev. Maurice Holt officiating. Casket bearers were Henry Blackwood, Harold Smith, Ed Troudt, Art Frey, Ora Farver, and John Reiman. Interment was in the Nelson cemetery (sic) with arrangements by the Klawitter Funeral Home.
