Doyle is Called Friday morning, December 1, 1933, St. Catherine’s parish, of Westfield, Iowa, lost one of its pioneer members with the passing of Mrs. Anna Marie Doyle, who has suffered for the past six years from a lingering illness. She seemed aware that the sands of life were slipping and was well fortified in her last hours by the holy viaticum. All members of her family were present at her bedside when she died. Departed was born at Allamakee, Iowa, August 18, 1872, where she spent her early girlhood days. On February 10, 1892, she was married to Edward M. Doyle in St. Mary’s church at Sioux City, Iowa, Father T. Tracy blessing their vows. They resided on a farm near Westfield until 1900, when they moved to Westfield, where she has since lived, with the exception of a four years’ residence in Yankton, S.D. Seven children were born to this union. One son died at the age of ten years, and the following children survive: Mrs. M. J. Burnight and Mrs. Nels Beaubien, of Westfield, Ia.; Tessie Doyle, of Sioux City, Ia.; Mrs. I. J. Maynard, of Elk Point, S. D.; Mrs. A.G. Tague, of Yankton, S. D., and Edward Doyle, of Westfield. There also survive four sisters—Mrs. M. Nichols and Mrs. Chas. Marks, of Sioux City; Mrs. Paul Stein, of Omaha, Nebr., and Mrs. Fred Bihlmeyer, of Elk Point, S. D. The community extends its sincere sympathy to the bereaved relatives. Mrs. Doyle was a devoted wife and mother, an exceptionally kind friend and neighbor, ever willing to lend a helping hand to anyon in trouble. She has many friends who will feel her loss keenly and will treasure the memories of her quiet, unassuming manner and her sweet and comforting smile. Funeral services were held Monday morning in St. Catherines’s church at Westfield, Rev. Fr. J. A. Roder officiating. A cortege of many friends accompanied the remains to the Catholic cemetery at Akron, where interment was made. Akron Register Tribune Thursday, December 7, 1933 Akron, Iowa
