Schnee, who died at her home here June 26th, was held at St. Mary's church in Alton Saturday morning at 9:30, with many relatives and friends present in tribute to the memory of this early resident, who was a devoted mother, a kind neighbor and friend. Anna Henrich was born September 4th, 1872 at Burlington, Wis. and at the age of 4 years came to Sioux County with her pioneer parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Henrich and brothers and sisters. The family homesteaded north of what later became the town of Alton. Nov. 15, 1892, Miss Henrich was married to a young neighboring farmer, William Schnee and the couple lived on a farm adjoining Alton on the north for many years. Ten children were born to them, of whom nine survive their mother, namely (Clara) Mrs. George Adler, Howard, S. Dak.; Mrs. Ida Gansemer, Sheldon; Albert, Rose (Mrs. Tony Vonderharr) and Cornelia of Alton; Emma and Rita, and Mrs. John R. Reinders (Adelia) of Orange City Mrs. Oscar Klein (Florence) of Westfield, N. J. Three brothers and two sisters survive Mrs. Schnee: John, Joe and Peter Henrich of Madison, Minn., Miss Clara Henrich of Alton, Sr. M. Cornelia of Dubuque. Mr. Schniee passed on in 1944 two years after the couple celebrated their golden wedding, and a son, Henry died in 1954. Officiating at the requiem mass were Rev. Reising, Rev. Dalhoff and Rev. Becker. Pallbearers were Carl Homan, John Schmidt, Frank Vortherms, Ott Kettler, Tony Pottebaum and Mike Zenk. Relatives and friends here for the services included the youngest daughter, Mrs. Klein of Westfield, N.J.; Mr, and Mrs. Joe Henrich, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Henrich and Marcellus, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Henrich; Erwin and Elmer Heinich, Cletus Schlosser and daughter, Messrs. and Mesdames Joe, Edmund and Roman Henrich, Mrs. Louis Henrich, George and Mary Ann, all of Madison, Madison, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schnee and Miss Celia Sdhnee of Oarthage, S. Dak.; Mr. and Mrs. Al Schnee and Mr. and Mrs. L. Homan of Sioux City; Ed Gerst, Cedar Rapids; Mrs, Warren Dean, Mound, Minn.; Sr. M. Cornelia and Sr. M. Donata of Dubuque; Leland Adler of Howard, S.D., Ralph Richardson, Madison, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Bud Petie, Mrs. Carl Wolbert.
