Description	:	Anna Matilda Hawkinson, the daughter of A. P. and Anna Laeson Hawkinson was born 1 March 1889 on a farm in the New Gottland community, near McPherson. She resided in McPherson County all her long and useful life. Anna was an active member of the New Gottland Lutheran Church as lomg as her health would permit. Being confirmed 7 May 1905 she loved her church and practiced her Savior's teachings in her everyday living. P. and Anna Laeson Hawkinson was born 1 March 1889 on a farm in the New Gottland community, near McPherson. She resided in McPherson County all her long and useful life. Anna was an active member of the New Gottland Lutheran Church as lomg as her health would permit. Anna was truly a homemaker, remaining at home to care for her Mother, and two brothers, until their deaths. In 1958 she and her two brothers left the farm and moved into McPherson, continuing their lives together.She will long be remembered by her family and her friends for her loving kindness and devotion to others without thought of personal recognition. Having no children of her own she could give you the full names and birth dates of each of her many nieces and nephews plus her great nieces and nephews. Survivors include three sisters and one brother-in-law; Esther and Harry Pattengill of McPherson, Mrs. Ida Anderson of Lindsborg, Mrs. Hilma Johnson of Chanute; a brother and sister-in-law, A.W. and Sarah Hawkinaon of Galva; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
