"Peggy" McKown, 74, of Miller died Monday, December 27, 1993 at Hand County Memorial Hospital. The funeral was at the First Presbyterian Church in Miller on Friday, December 31, with Rev. Michael McCallum officiating. Burial was in the G.A.R. Cemetery in Miller. Anna May Winsell was born November 23, 1919 in Miller to Andrew and Margaret (Roubideux) Winsell. In 1935 she married Charles Dopp. On October 23, 1939, she married Jim McKown in Sundance, WY. They lived in Miller for a short time and then moved to south Hyde County, where they worked for Ted and Clayton Jennings and Paul Berry. In 1965 they moved to Onaka and worked for Martin Nold for 14 years. After the death of her husband in 1979, she moved to south Hand County. She worked for Virgil Lips at the Lips dining Center and drove a packer for road construction. In 1982 she moved to Miller. In addition to her restaurant work, she also worked at the day care center. Survivors include four sons, William of Shasta Valley, CA, James "Jim" of England, John "Butch" of Miller, and Kenneth of Salem, OR; one daughter, Marjorie Speirs of Anthon, IA; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Frank and Jack Winsell; and one sister, Alice "Pat" Campbell. Pallbearers were Willie Yost, James Krick, Jr., Terry Krick, Roilan Hall, Jerry Nold, and Charles Hargens. Honorary pallbearers were Dale Waters, James Krick, Clayton and Ted Jennings, Carl Hagenlock, Martin Trefz, and Dr. Martin Nold.
