Dayton Review May 26, 1960 OBITUARY ANNA HANSON Anna Hanson, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Per Persson, was born in Alfta, Sweden on October 4, 1888. She passed away quietly May 15, 1960 after being seriously ill for over six months. Anna was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Alfta, Sweden. She was united in marriage with Nels Hanson on January 13, 1909 in the same community of Sweden. They resided in Sweden until coming to America in July of 1927 and made their home on a farm near Stratford, Iowa. She continued to live in the Stratford community until she passed away. The family joined the Stratford Lutheran Congregation in 1927. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Henry, at the age of seven months, and one sister. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Phil (Elvira) Davis of Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Robert (Ellen) Smith of Stratford, Ia.; four sisters Kristin, Marta, Brita and Velma and three brothers Eric, Jonke and Alfred all in Sweden, many relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Stratford Lutheran Church at 2:30 p.m. on May 17, 1960 with Rev. L. Anderson officiating. Pall bearers were Erick Erickson, Carl Johnson, Thure Anderson, Dr. Harry Knukle, John Anderson, and Donald Swanson. Hanson Funeral Home was in charge. Interment was at the Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. Ardelle Larson and Mrs. Velva Hotchkiss sang two Swedish numbers. "Tryggare Kan Ingen Vara" and "Borde Jag ej Vara Glad."
