After a lingering illness of consumption, following a severe attack of pneumonia, Mrs. Frank McGowan died yesterday afternoon at St. Ann's hospital. About three months ago a child of Mr. and Mrs. McGowan was stricken with pneumonia and was taken to the hospital, and within the next two days both Mr. and Mrs. McGowan were receiving treatment for the same disease. It was thought for a time that Mrs. McGowan would recover, but a month ago she suffered a relapse, and since then has been failing steadily. Mrs. McGowan was born in the Boulder valley, 33 years ago. Her parents still reside there, and the remains will be shipped to her old home for interment. Besides her parents, her husband and seven children, the oldest 12 years of age, survive her. Anaconda, Mont., June 19.--Mrs. Frank McGowan died at St. Ann's hospital yesterday evening of quick consumption at the age of thirty-three years. She was the mother of seven children, six of whom are alive. Mrs. McGowan was taken to the hospital about three months ago suffering from pneumonia and this developed into consumption. She was formerly Miss Annie Wickham, and was raised in the Boulder valley about twenty miles from Boulder, where her parents now live. Her husband is an employe at the new works. The body will, in all probability, be buried in the Catholic cemetery near her former home. The Anaconda Standard (Anaconda, Montana), Sunday, 21 Jun 1903, p. 4 WILL SHIP REMAINS TO-DAY Body of Mrs. Frank McGowan to Be Sent to Boulder Valley for Interment. The remains of the late Mrs. Frank McGowan, who died at St. Ann's hospital of consumption on Thursday, will be shipped this morning to her old home in the lower Boulder Valley. Patrick and Mrs. Wickham, her father and mother, arrived in the city yesterday, and will accompany the body to its final resting place. Mrs. McGowan was 37 years of age, and was born in Helena. Mr. Wickham, her father, is one of the pioneers of the Boulder valley, settling there in 1866. She was married to Mr. McGowan in 1888. Three brothers and three sisters, besides her parents, survive her, also seven children and her husband. Mrs. McGowan was a member of the daughters of Erin.
