Read More	Obituary taken from the Gainesville Sun 6 February 1939 Mrs. DaCosta Passes Away Sunday Funeral Services Held This Afternoon at 3 o'Clock Mrs. Annabel Lee Wilson DaCosta, 83, widow of the late Judge Aaron John DaCosta, died at 4:30 o'clock Sunday morning at her residence on East Main Street, North, after an illness of several weeks. Funeral services were to be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon at her home, with the Rev. Richard Broyles and Dr. W. A. Myres officiating. Services were continued at the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery where interment was made. Pallbearers were Harvey Hutchinson, Milton Baxley, Seldon Waldo, Ralph Thomas, Dr. J. M. Dell, Sr., James Chestnut, Ben Richards, and Dr. C. E. Bell. Mrs. DaCosta was born in Newnansville, Fla., April 1, 1856, the daughter of the late Col. Lemuel Wilson and Raffaila Sanches Wilson. On her maternal side, she was a descendant of Francis Xavier Sanchez of Castille, Spain, a pioneer settler of St. Augustine. She attended East Florida Seminary as a young woman and at the time of her death was one of the oldest living graduates of that institution. In 1875, she was married in this city to Aaron John DaCosta formerly of Jacksonville, who died 14 years ago. Of this union six children were born, five of whom survive. They are: Miss Annie Elizabeth DaCosta, Mrs. Orville T. Stone, Mrs. Charles C. Clymere, and Alpheus P. DaCosta of this city, and Mrs. Norris McElya of Miami. Another son, Aaron William DaCosta, died six years ago in this city. Also surviving are four grand-children, Amelia DaCosta McElya, and John Trueman Stone of Gainesville and Nell McElya and Norris McElya, Jr. of Miami, and by four generations of nieces and nephews, among whom are Lemuel R. Woods and Mrs. W. H. Anderson, of Tampa, and Miss Raffaila Wilson and Mrs. Harvey Robinson, of Gainesville, and Mrs. Wallace Prescott of Newnansville. Mrs. DaCosta was a member of the First Methodist Church and (rest of obituary was missing).
