High School and joined the U.S. Navy, where she was an aerial photographer. She received a National Defense Service Medal. She changed her name to Anne Elizabeth Beach during her time in the Navy. She received a B.A. degree from The University of Nebraska at Kearney. Anne was married to Ralph Allen "Al" Stout, II and they raised 5 children. Anne was a journalist, employed at NBC affiliate KHAS-TV as a Continuity Director and Promotional Manager. She was a writer for both local and national television commercials. She served as a national correspondent for NBC following Frank Church during the 1976 presidential campaign. She served as co-chair of the Adams County Democratic Party for many years. She and Al spent their retirement years between Havasu Lake and San Antonio, TX, where they were living until the summer of 2011, when they moved back to Nebraska. Anne lived in Golden Living Nursing Home, Cozad, Nebraska until she moved to Good Samaritan Village, Perkins Pavilion, Hastings, Nebraska where she resided until her death. Anne was an avid reader, and she enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles, singing, and traveling. She loved the desert and spent many hours in her desert garden. She was known for her smile & sense of humor, positive attitude and was an early advocate for equal rights. Anne was preceded in death by her husband of 55 plus years, Ralph Allen "Al" Stout, II; daughter, Marjorie Ann Stout; parents Merle and Mary Beach and brother, Gene L. Beach. Survivors are: brother, Rodney & wife Joyce Beach of Littleton, Colorado; sister in law, Kay Beach of Marshalltown, Iowa; daughters, Micki Strickland & husband Joe of Inavale, Nebraska, Mary-Margaret Phillips & husband Don of Lincoln, Nebraska, Monique Moore of Franklin, Nebraska and Mia Redd & husband Harry of Granada Hills, California; son, Merle Beach & wife Patty of Inavale, Nebraska; grandchildren, Torri Colboch, Leslie Bender, Laura Allen, Danielle Schultz, Dr. Tyler Phillips, Joshua Moore, Dr. A.J. Strickland, Erin Phillips, Sadie Redd, and Madison Redd; 13 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the Williams Funeral Home in Red Cloud by The Very Reverend James Schrader. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Red Cloud with the Rev. Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Franklin, Nebraska with military honors by the Nebraska National Guard.
