Description	:	Anton Frank Dartmann, for twenty-three years a resident of this community, died at his home northeast of town on Saturday afternoon at 3:45. Mr. Dartmann was been in failing health for the past year, but had only been bedfast the past six weeks. His passing was due to rheumatism and kidney complications. The deceased was born at Senden, Westphalen, Germany on August 24, 1953 and died on December 19, 1933 at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 16 days. The deceased was born at Senden, Westphalen, Germany on August 24, 1953 and died on December 19, 1933 at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 16 days. He emigrated to the United States in 1882 and located at Carroll, Ia. From that city, Mrs. Dartmann went to Hand county, S.D., where he filed on a homestead. On April 19, 1888 Mr. Dartmann was united in marriage to Elizabeth Hartman at Maria Zeil. S.D. The couple resided in South Dakota for several years and then moved to West Point, Nebr. In the year 1910 they came to Creighton and have since made this their home. Mr. and Mrs. Dartmann were the parents of four sons and five daughters, Agnes dying in infancy. Besides the widow, the surviving daughters and sons are: Mrs. John Muegge, Mrs. Roy Ward and Mrs. John Vogt of Creighton, Mrs. Herman Schula of Wisner and Bernard, Henry, Tony and Joe, all of this city. Mr. Dartmann devoted many years of his life in the pursuit of agriculture and met with the usual discouragements incidental to the pioneer life, but each loss only served to increase his ambitions. He was honest and upright in all his dealings and was honored and respected by his every acquaintance. Funeral services were held on Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Ludger Catholic church. Father Windolph presided at a solemn requiem high mass and delivered a very fitting eulogy to relatives and friends of the departed. A large crowd was present at the last rites. The remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery. To the wife and family, who are mourning the passing on of a husband and father, we extend condolences. ...The Creighton News Dec 1933
