Description	:	Antonia (Machovec) Tusa was born in Bohemia to Frank and Frances (Brothanek) Machovec, and came to the U.S. in 1883 with her parents and four siblings. The family spent a short time in Chicago, Illinois before coming to Brule Co., Dakota Territory (SD) where they homesteaded. Two more siblings were born after arriving. On August 12, 1889, her father, Frank, was struck and killed by lightning, leaving her mother, Frances, with 7 children, and another on the way. By 1900, they had 5 children born to them, with 3 living at that time. Her Mother and siblings had moved from Brule Co, and were now living on a homestead nearby. James and Antonia had 12 children total, with the two dying before 1900, and Antonia died January 18, 1911 in Buffalo Co. during childbirth of the 12th. Hazel Blanche Klindt Oct 27, 1924) Mary 12, dau - b. Jan. 1898 (m. Ed McLaughlin Oct 10, 1917) Libbie A. 10, dau - b. Feb. 1899 - poss died 1926 Lillie 9, dau (m. Ray McLaughlin Nov 1, 1919) Mamy 7, dau - prob "Mayme" (m. Geo. Engel Mar. 16, 1922) Maggie 4, dau - b. June 20, 1905 - Marguerite" (m. Louie C. Russell Jan. 20, 1931) Frank 3, son -b. Jan 25, 1907 Buffalo Co. (SD B's)(no marriage or death found..) William 2, son - b. April 18, 1908 -(m. Orrel M. Springer Aug. 2, 1937) Andrew 6 mo. - b.
