Saturday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Leo McGarvey, near Hudson, where she had been living since October, 1931. She was a victim of cancer and was ill about six months, bedfast during much of that time. Mrs. Dufek was a resident of north Tama and south Black Hawk counties about eighteen years, most of this time being spent in the Voorhies community. Funeral services were held Monday morning at the home and at Blessing church, with the Rev. Father John Richards in charge. Burial was in the Blessing cemetery. Pall bearers were Joseph Vorba Sr., Joe Caslavka, Joe Kopring, Frank Babinet, James Kubik and Frank Vojtech. Mrs. Dufek, whose maiden name was Antonie Mucha, was a daughter of Joseph and Margaret Mucha and was born in Vlkenec, Bohemia, February 12, 1876. At the age of 15 she came to America, living at Omaha, Nebraska until her marriage to Joseph Dufek at Linwood, Nebraska, October 5, 1897. The couple made their home in Nebraska and in Minnesota until they came to this community eighteen years ago. About eleven years ago they moved to Traer and lived here two or three years, lat¬er returning to the farm. Again, a year or two ago they moved here and occupied their property on west Third street until Mrs. Dufek's failing health forced them to go to the home of their daughter late in October. The couple were the parents of two children — Joseph Jr., of Voorhies, and Rose, wife of Leo McGarvey, near Hudson. Mr. Dufek will continue to live with the latter and will rent his property here to other parties. The decedent is also survived by one brother, Joseph Mucha, of Omaha, and by two grandchildren, Edward and Mildred Dufek, of Voorhies. One sister, a step-brother and a step-sister preceded her in death.
