Description	:	Antonnette Skalicky was born August 3, 1871 at Sestrone, Czechoslovakia, the daughter of John and Josephine Skalicky, When 12 years old, she came to America with her family, landing in New York. On July 4, 1882 they arrived at Niobrara, making their home in Knox and Boyd counties. Here she grew to womanhood. She worked in different homes at Creighton and Greenwood, S.D. September 30, 1899 she was united in marriage with Frank Ellis of Verdel. The ceremony was performed at Pischelville. September 30, 1899 she was united in marriage with Frank Ellis of Verdel. The ceremony was performed at Pischelville. The couple took up housekeeping on a farm southwest of Verdel, where they lived for over 40 years. They had two sons, Orrie of Verdel and Ernest of Meadow Grove. Because of poor health, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis moved to Meadow Grove in April 1941. May 2 of this year, Mrs. Ellis entered a hospital at Tilden, later she was moved to a Norfolk hospital, where she passed away June 23 at the age of 70 years, 10 months and 20 days. Besides her husband, Frank and sons, Orrie and Frank, she leaves four grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Frank Novacek and Mrs. Frank Sokol of Verdigre, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Friday. Services were conducted at Meadow Grove, then, in verdigre at the Methodist church.
