Description	:	Ardes Sims, 85, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Columbus. The funeral service will be Friday, July 8, 10:30 A.M. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Revs. Patrick Sparling and Kurt Ebert officiating. Interment will be in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Friday from 9:30 - 10:30 A.M. at the church with a family prayer service at 10:15 A.M. Memorials are those of the donor's choice. Ardes was born September 29, 1925, in Battle Creek, Nebraska, to Henry and Sevilla (Bredehoft) Flesner. The family moved to Columbus in 1933. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Kramer High School. Ardes worked at Western Union in Fremont, Nebraska, and for North American Van Lines in Columbus for a number of years. On September 29, 1959, she was united in marriage to Emmett Sims. Ardes was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was involved in the Orphan Grain Train, LLL, LWML, Evening Guild, and Mission Sowers. Ardes is survived by: Son - Mark Sims of Columbus, NE Grandchildren - Jessica, Jill, Jen Nieces and nephews Ardes was preceded in death by: Parents - Henry and Sevilla Flesner Husband - Emett Sims Sister - Lois Rice Brother - Delbert Flesner
