Description	:	Son of Carl & Emma (Tatlock) Sims. Emett attended school in Bell. Emett entered the U.S. Navy on September 5, 1947, and served until February 1, 1950. On September 29, 1959, Emmett married Ardes Flesner in Columbus. Emett drove bulk cement trucks for Gerholds and Gehring Construction for 30 years. Emett also worked at Dale Electronics and construction work in western Nebraska. He was a charter member of Camp Luther where he volunteered one day a week for six years. Emett entered the U.S. Navy on September 5, 1947, and served until February 1, 1950. On September 29, 1959, Emmett married Ardes Flesner in Columbus. Emett drove bulk cement trucks for Gerholds and Gehring Construction for 30 years. Emett also worked at Dale Electronics and construction work in western Nebraska. Emett was an active member of the LLL at Immanuel Lutheran and Peace Lutheran Churches. With the LLL, Emett was the League Services Chairman for 15 years, recruited 25 volunteers for the LLL Booth at the state fair fro 20 years, and attended LLL State and Zone conventions and meetings from 1972- 2007. Emett also took the Lutheran Church Service on tape and later video to Morys Haven on Sundays. Emett is survived by: Wife: Ardes Sims of Columbus, NE Son: Mark Sims of Columbus, NE Sister: Berniece Mattice of CA Brother: Earl Sims of CA Brother: Patrick Sims of CA Sister-in-law: Lois Rice of Columbus, NE Many nieces and nephews in CA 2 Cousins in KS Emett was preceded in death by: Parents - Carl and Emma Sims Sister - Edna Brother-in-law - Delbert Flesner
