On May 9, 1886, she was married to William Franklin Hodgson, at Grenola, Kansas, Her church affiliation was Baptist She was the mother of twelve children, nine living. One son and one daughter died in infancy, Irene (Mrs. Floyd Sturgeon) died in 1919. Surviving are her husband and the following daughters and sons; Joyce, (Mrs. Fred Dunlap); Maude Hodgson, of St. Louis; Deloris, (Mrs. Marvin Collins): Frances, (Mrs. John Lewis): Martha, (Mrs. Noel Stiffler): Cecile, (Mrs. Loyal Brown): Howard Alfred and William F. Jr. There are twenty-three grandchildren. Mrs. Hodgson was a devoted wife and mother, her foremost thought being service and kindness to others. Her home was always a happy gathering place, welcome to all, and she was most generous in ministering to the needs of her neighbors and friends. Memorial services were held from the Kribble Funeral Home Friday afternoon, October 17, Mr. J.H. Wiggins conducting and Rev. S. Duane Odgen officiating. Vocal music was by Addington Bruton, accompanied by Mrs. Bruton, who also provided the piano prelude. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. From Eureka Herald 23 October 1941 page 1.
