Ardis Elaine (Schweitzer) Boshart was born March 17, 1926, on a farm just north of East Fairview Mennonite Church near Milford, Nebraska the 2nd of 5 children born to Elmer & Gertrude (Miller) Schweitzer, and went to be with our Lord on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Ridgewood Rehab and Care Center in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 91 yrs, 6 mos. and 21 days. As a young girl, Ardis attended country school district #80 through the eighth grade. She was baptized at West Fairview Mennonite Church in her youth and accepted Christ as her personal Savior and became a member of West Fairview Mennonite Church, later becoming a member of Milford Mennonite Church. In her early life, Ardis did domestic work throughout Seward County. On August 4, 1946, she was united in marriage to Delbert Boshart at West Fairview Mennonite Church, Beaver Crossing, and to this union 8 children were born: Jeannette, Connie, Lora, Arlene, Darlene, D. Russel, Rachele and Wendy. After her marriage, Ardis cleaned houses, mostly in Lincoln and later helped Delbert farm. Along with raising her children, Ardis was an avid seamstress most of her life. She also enjoyed quilting, crocheting and other needle work. In her later years, making, giving and selling quilts was a huge part of her life. Ardis was a great cook and her time spent with her family meant everything. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jeannette Bardell, Pickrell, Connie and Don Hoile, Milford, Lora Roth, Milford, Arlene and Jeff Sieck, Columbus, a son Russel Boshart and fiance Myrna Davis, Milford, 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren, brother, Gerald Schweitzer, Milford, sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor & Richard Roth, Milford, sisters-in-law, Merna Boshart, Wood River, Diana Schweitzer, Milford and many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Ardis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Delbert Boshart in 2015, daughters, Darlene Boshart in 1958, Wendy Boshart in 1964, Rachele Boshart Mattice in 2014, granddaughter, Casey Roth, great-grandson, Royce Mach, brothers Dean and Cleo Schweitzer, sisters-in-law, Arlene and Lois Schweitzer, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Leroy and Fern Schweitzer, Merrill and Shirley Boshart, Marjorie and Nelson Miller, Aldoris Boshart, Amos Jr. and Loretta Boshart and Omar Boshart. Avid quilter, making and giving quilts was a huge part of her life. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, at Lauber-Moore Funeral Home in Milford, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Milford Mennonite Church. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, at Milford Mennonite Church, with the Rev. Timothy Springer officiating. A private family burial will be held prior to the service at Milford Mennonite Cemetery. Pallbearers are her six grandsons. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for future designation.
