She was born on August 23, 1933 at Beatrice and was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church of rural Beatrice and attended country school. Dorn, 82, of Beatrice, died Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Center. She was born on August 23, 1933 at Beatrice and was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church of rural Beatrice and attended country school. She married Harold Dorn on March 11, 1955 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. They lived on the farm west of Lewiston before moving to the farm near Holmesville. In 1964 they moved to Blue Springs and in 1976 they moved to the Frerichs home place. Arlene was a developmental tech at BSDC for many years, retiring in 1995. She lived at Homestead House in Beatrice for several years. She was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of rural Beatrice. She enjoyed helping with bingo at local nursing homes and the Merry Hearts Circle. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Campbell and husband Virgil and Mariellen Durst and husband Mike all of Beatrice; four grandchildren, Patrick and Leighann Campbell and Kendra and Jason Durst; sister, Delores Schultz and husband Robert of Beatrice; brother-in-law, Raymond Dorn and wife Anna of Beatrice; sisters-in-law, Margaret Zimmerman and husband Garold of Beatrice and Connie Dorn of Pawnee City; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Lammert and Anna Jurgens Frerichs, her husband, Harold, who died on December 3, 1990, parents-in-law, Ufka and Tena Dorn, brothers-in-law, Alfred Dorn and wife Bernice and Melvin Dorn. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Chuck Bentjen officiating. Burial will be at the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery of rural Beatrice. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Wednesday at the church. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home from 8:00 A.M. Monday until 9:00 P.M. Tuesday and then one hour preceding the service at the church on Wednesday. The family will meet and greet relatives and friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home. A guest book for signatures and messages of condolence is available at www.foxfuneralhome.net. Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice is in charge of the arrangements.
