Read More	Husband to Margaret Snyder OBITUARY On Saturday night, March 14, 1914, at 10:30 o'clock, Arnold Schnars, aged 79 years, 6 months, and 21 days, died, at Keysor, Colo., at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nettie Lawrence, after a winter of slowly increasing weakness terminated by three weeks of simi-consciousness spent in bed, while his devoted children and grandchildren did all in their power to alleviate what little pain he seemed to suffer. THe deceased was born August 23, 1834 in Clearfield County, PA, where on September 1855, he was united in marriage to Margaret Snyder of Karthaus, PA. To them were born nine children, whom five survive. While his children were still small the spirit of the pioneer, always strong in him, urged him to leave Pennsylvnia to try his fortunes elsewhere. And so he moved to Iowa, where he lived until that state, too, having developed into a slendid farm country, seemed too crowed, and he moved to share with other early settlers the hardships Kansas had to endure before becoming what she now is, one of our foremost states. And still in his old age the pioneer spirit impelled him westward and he came to eastern Colorado, where he spent several vigorous, helphealthful years before succumbing to the attacks of time. Through all these years until September 26, 1905, when she left him to enter a new home of rest, through good fortune and ill fortune his wife was a constant companion and inspiration. Now he has gone to join her. Surviving him are five children, Christian D. Schnars, Catherine E. Peck, Lola S. Tullis and Nettie F. Lawrence, all of Keysor, Colo., and Ira J. Schnars of Denver; twenty-five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. On Mondayfolowing his death a simple but impressive funeral service was held at Mountain View school house, the sermon being preached by the Rev. Mr. Huesher of Mattison who ended his discourse by a quotation from the apostle Paul, which very aptly fitted the upright, sincere life of Grandpa Schnars as known by those nearset and dearest to him: "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me in that day." The body was laid torest in Mountain View Cemetery,
